Shopify Store Policies
The policy pages are where a customer reads how you refund, what you do with their details, and how shipping works.
- Where
- Settings, then Policies
- Usual set
- Refund, privacy, terms, shipping
- Templates
- Shopify can insert a starter text you edit
- Payments
- Some providers ask for policies before they activate
- Dropshipping
- The refund window has to match the supplier
Where the pages live
In the admin, open Settings, then Policies. Shopify lists refund, privacy, terms of service, shipping, and contact information. The help page says you can add your own text or start from a generated template.
The pages are linked from checkout. A customer can open them before they pay. An empty policy is a blank promise.
The refund policy
Write who pays return shipping, how many days the customer has, and whether a dropshipped item can be returned to you or to the supplier. If the supplier refuses returns, the policy has to say that in plain words.
The person who answers the customer is still you. That is the split in Shopify Dropshipping in Pakistan.
Privacy and terms
The privacy policy says what you collect at checkout and who else sees it. On a dropshipping order the supplier receives the name and address so they can ship. Say that.
Terms of service are the store rules: payment, delivery, and what happens when an item is out of stock. Keep them as long as they need to be, and specific to this store.
Policies and payment providers
Some payment providers ask for a refund policy and a privacy policy before they turn on. Add the pages, then return to Settings, then Payments. The Pakistan payment path is Shopify Payments in Pakistan.
The eight setup steps put policies before the password comes off. Those steps are in How to Create a Shopify Store.
Frequently asked questions
Where are Shopify store policies?
Settings, then Policies. The usual pages are refund, privacy, terms of service, and shipping.
Can I use Shopify’s policy template as-is?
You can start from it. Replace the sample timing and the sample return rules with the rules your supplier and your test order support.
Do I need a privacy policy for dropshipping?
Yes. Checkout collects a name, address, and email, and the supplier needs the address to ship. The privacy policy should say that.
Will a payment provider ask for these pages?
Some do, before they activate. Add the policies, then open Payments again.
Who handles a return?
You answer the customer. The supplier’s return rule is what you are allowed to promise. Write that rule in the refund policy.
Write the rule you can keep
If the supplier needs seven days’ notice for a return, the refund policy should say seven days, not a slogan.
