Shopify Automatic Free Shipping Discount
An automatic free shipping discount applies when the subtotal qualifies. Nobody types a code.

Automatic means no code
A discount code waits for the customer to type it. An automatic discount applies when its rule matches. Shopify’s overview is Discounts, and the free shipping type is free shipping discounts. A code, a minimum spend, and a usage limit are the other path, in Shopify Discount Codes.
For free shipping, the usual rule is a minimum purchase. Under the minimum, shipping is whatever your rates say. At the minimum, that discount makes shipping free. The customer should be able to see the minimum before they reach checkout.
The discount this app creates
Saving the threshold in Free Shipping Bar Pro creates one automatic free shipping discount. The title is Free shipping (Free Shipping Bar Pro). The minimum is the threshold, compared as greater than or equal to the cart subtotal. It applies to all destinations and to one-time purchases. It is allowed to combine with product discounts and with order discounts.
Save a new threshold and the app updates that same discount. Uninstalling the app deletes it, along with the saved bar settings. You will see the title in the Shopify discounts list after the first save.
The bar explains the discount
The progress bar is the storefront view of this minimum. Under the goal it prints the amount left. At the goal it prints the success message and the fill is full. The calculation is in Shopify Free Shipping Progress Bar. The number you choose is in How to Set a Shopify Free Shipping Threshold.
A shipping rate with its own minimum can still exist in your shipping profile. If that rate uses a different number, checkout can disagree with the bar. Keep one goal. The rate setup is in How to Set Shopify Shipping Rates.
Confirm it on an order
Add products until the subtotal crosses the threshold. Checkout should offer free shipping, and the discounts list should show the app’s title on the order. Under the threshold, shipping should still have a price. Use the steps in How to Place a Shopify Test Order.
Then put the bar where shoppers will see the goal, with Shopify Announcement Bar for Free Shipping. Install the app from its App Store listing.
