The video

The title on YouTube is “I Built a FREE Mac Cleaning App Using Vibe Coding.” The app in the video is Hedge. Watch it, then open the same app on the Hedge page, where the sidebar can be clicked.

What Hedge does

Overview scans the places Mac apps leave behind: app caches, browser caches, developer tools, Xcode DerivedData, logs, old installers, and the Trash. Scan measures. Trim moves the checked rows into the Trash. Unchecked rows stay.

Documents, photos, mail, and passwords are outside that list. Emptying the Trash is the permanent delete, and Hedge asks first. The first launch asks for the home folder, because the app is sandboxed.

The rest of the sidebar

Health reads processor load, memory in use, and free disk. Memory splits the Mac into app, wired, compressed, cached, and free, and it can ask a selected app to quit. Temperature shows the thermal state macOS reports: Cool, Warm, Hot, or Throttling. It does not invent a Celsius number.

Security reads FileVault, the firewall, Gatekeeper, and the other switches. It does not flip them, and it does not scan files for malware. Activity is a local note of trims and quit requests. Nothing from the scan is uploaded.

Install it

On macOS 14 or later, the install command is curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/qasim0786/hedge/main/install.sh | bash. Or download Hedge.dmg and drag it to Applications. The steps are in the README.

Shopify work sits on other pages. Free Shipping Bar Pro is the shipping bar. This page is the Mac app, and the video that built it.
